credit lines were neither matching users’ expectations nor fitting their needs, and nubank colombia lacked the ability to raise them. users were feeling frustrated, declaring “increase credit lines” their primary pain point, and were transacting less with our credit card than with others, endangering our credit business’ sustainable growth.
i collaborated with multidisciplinary team members to build the foundations for credit increases' underwriting and user experience. i challenged and debated business analysts and product operators' business proposals to derive our credit policies. understanding data scientists and engineers' pains, i upgraded our technical architecture by implementing a global data ml infrastructure in colombia. i informed, challenged and debated data scientists, designers, engineers, lawyers and product operators' design proposals to devise a credit-increase ux/ui.
nubank colombia launched credit increases, lifting unit balance by 14%, unit revenue by 20%, csat by 28 percentage points and nps by 5 points - with no statistically significant effect on delinquency.

local alternative data sources failed to evidence a meaningful impact on nubank colombia’s credit model. as our applicant base diversified, it increasingly rejected applicants eager to obtain and to use our credit card, constraining our credit business.

nubank colombia tested open banking, validating 5% unique income data compared to our credit model’s data sources, surpassing all except for one credit bureau. the global credit-strategy team yellow-lighted it for further evaluation, as of 24h2.
